The Bourbon Thread

An interesting bottling coming out from my favorite distillery. Usually the juice in the heritage collection bottles is older and much more expensive. Seems they are using the same bottle shape but not calling it heritage collection, rather its a special 90th anniversary bottling. Curious to see if this release will be obtainable at msrp, and live up to the quality of the heritage collection

Only 200 barrels? Doubt it.

Wouldn’t be surprised if it was a gift shop / experience release, like the Unity.

I was able to snag a pair of Weller 12 here today which I haven’t ever done in state.
In fact getting 107 is generally tougher.

It’s a once a year release so won’t be replicated, but speaks a bit to a softening I think after seeing turnout at two stores.

Willett 11 yr was the other name release but I’m not sure who continues to support it at the prices asked ($399 today)

That’s because 107 is a hell of a lot better

WIllett pricing is its own thing. Absolutely crazy

Got these in mail. We sell these, but I have been impressed with their Bourbons to date as they were really newer to me earlier this year as Idaho State stores don’t have a broad seelction and they were just putting down barrels when I was living in WA.

Holladay having a bit more production and being a BIB and Rickhouse proof wheater and Ben Holladay being high rye and allocated/limited.

Ive only tried the Ben Holiday BiB, fantastic bottle for a decent price. Cool to new a distillery like this get some recognition with the sea of sourced labels flooding the market. At fair a honest price as well. Im not usually a fan of wheaters but would you reccomend the rickhouse proof bottles? How does the soft red wheat compare to other wheated bottles on the market in terms of sweetness?

The Ben is high rye so if you aren’t into wheaters its a great bottle. I don’t like the sweeter profile on wheaters, or whiskey in general, and I don’t find the SRW to be sweet just a bit richer due to wheat.
