The Abandoned Chicagoland Cellar Photos!

I decided to take a class photo a la François Audouze. I now have my heart set on drinking all of them and posting tasting notes on the board. If at some point I decide to let any go, those who PMed me will be the first to know.

Edit: Also, I was thinking of organizing a Wine Dinner at Cafe Lucci (in Glenview on Milwaukee) in their private tasting room for any berserkers who want to bring an old, nice bottle that’s on par with a wine(s) I have.

This is the stash that you’re trying to sell without showing up on the radar of the IRS or the Illinois Liquor Control Commissio*n?

You might be getting out beyond misdemeanor territory here - you might be looking at a felon*y up there on the shores of Lake Michigan.

People sell cars, guitars and antique furniture for more every day with no government hassle, no?

Sad to see those beauties not treated with love. The fill on the Brane Cantenac is scary.

I’m guessing you find some gems, though. Have fun and enjoy!

I love the “bargin bin” orange price stickers on some.

Cool. Looks like an interesting stash.
Surprisingly, a low-fill needn’t always spell a bad wine.

Maybe it was Coravin’d.

Very cool Mark; good luck with whatever decision you make. Thanks for the pictures.

I have fond memories of the 78 Lascombe.

Oh man, you need to share. I can bring a 2011 caymus

How is that wine, awesome?

Seriously, I’m so confused on why Nathan has chosen to bust this kid’s balls and not the hundreds of other posters on Commerce Corner who have the same “problem” with their wine sales. Or anyone who trolls garage sales/flea markets for finds. Or anyone who sells on eBay, or…well, you get the picture.

Mark - cool pictures, thanks for sharing. Reminds me of my days trolling through golf equipment stores trying to find prototype/tour golf clubs in my younger days that were hidden Easter eggs. Glad you scored a find!

Awesome Mark. It took me awhile to figure out how this related back to How should I sell 10K+ worth of wine from my personal collection? - WINE TALK - WineBerserkers.

Great find, and looking forward to your notes!

I can Coravin you some.

Not to mention that he’s not planning on selling them…

I must have missed a thread or post somewhere else. What’s the story/background here?
