I wouldn’t be surprised if not a single one of these is drinkable at this age. Especially since it doesn’t appear any of them has a screwcap.

But my guess for the contest is 2003 Evans & Tate “Gnangara” Unwooded. At least it was a somewhat legit wine to begin with, and it has two years on most of the field.

Martin Ray, Columbia Crest, and the Barton Macon Villages are the three others I can sort of imagine having some shot to still be alive.

Fun little test, anyway. It would be more fun with cheapo reds of that age, which probably would have more of a chance to still be drinkable.

Mark, do you ever start any normal threads? This one sounds like a playground stunt, which I don’t mind watching but not participating in.

Bryan,
I understand your point of view, but why not hitch your horse to one of the not-yet-chosen wagons? Mark’s offer to donate to charity is a generous one. [cheers.gif]

I say Black Opal by Wolf Blass…

Because the name is awesome!

I should’ve named my kid Wolf Blass.

…hmmm , or maybe Black Opal?

Fun thread Mark, cheers!

Definitely a fun thread for a Monday night!
Thanks Mark

Columbia Crest

I doubt any will be drinkable, but I’ll go with Black Swan because I don’t recognize it.

Seems like a great opportunity to make plenty of risotto.

Brown Bros might be hanging on…grimly!

wouldn’t be surprised if the winner here is the liquor store.

Jumping on the Shale Ridge Monterey ! Although the Gnangara had the best name.

First taste killed him, or sent him to toilet.

Hmmm guess they were 19 percent abv and he passed out!

16 bottles, that’s probably even more than Todd could drink in a night!
