Terrific Riesling Feinherb from St Urbans-Hof!

TN: 2012 Nik Weis St Urbans-Hof Wiltinger Riesling Alte Reben Feinherb, Mosel.

$29 Cdn, good natural cork, tall slim bottle, new style of label for this weingut. 10% alc, AP No 3 529 290 14 13.

Medium straw color. Mineral, citrus nose with white floral blossoms. No gout de petrol! Pear and hint of honeysuckle as it aired.
Drinks well now so am anxious to see how this will develope in time. Nice balance, not too sweet, does not appear as acidic as Toms note on the `13. Nice minerality, “chalk” from across the table. Good mid palate, lengthy finish, apple, does not appear to have too much tropical fruit tone at this stage. I am happy to stash some away!

St Urbans Hof is as good as Prum without the price tag.

(shhhhh… also a big fan)

Huge fan of St. Urbans-Hof, but no.

Depends a whole lot which Prüm you are talking about.

There’s more than one? [stirthepothal.gif]

There’s apparently ‘always’ only one, no matter if Prüm, Fevre, Conterno etc.

Pet peeve, sorry.

Well if John means J J then the answer is still no. If he doesn’t mean J J then I don’t really care.

Minimal price difference (actually Urbans can be more expensive), big quality difference, IMHO…
