Nope but liked the write up and bought. These guys do well by me in that I trust their reviews. I’ll gift if I’m not crazy about it.
Tempting price but the high dosage put me off.
Tan Fruit 2023 Cuvee chardonnay for $18.99 at Envoyer.
Does anyone know anything about this? Is the wine good and is this a great deal?
The Tan Fruit? I haven’t had the 2023, but It’s an excellent wine. It’s Jim Maresh of Arterberry Maresh’s Chardonnay only label. This is the entry level that normally goes for around $35-$40.
Some stupid good bargains in the Zachy’s Halloween sale section
2020 Percarlo $63
2012 Bertani Amarone $42
2019 Castello di Verduno Barbaresco Rabaja-bas $18
2020 Tua Rita Giusto di Notri $30
I was supposed to be on a wine purchase moratorium until end of the year but caved… will have some explaining to do later but that’s a next week problem
Some $13 '19 BdM is pretty killer.
Edit: FIRST10 code worked for me.
Grabbed some Travaglini Riserva '19 for $23 and Albino Rocca Barbaresco for $25. Several other items were sold out though still showing on the sale site.
Wow
I think I paid something like 50 euros for those Albino Rocca wine at the cellar door, so $25 is silly.
I made myself a mixed six of some of the $20 ish Italians. Would have loved to go long, but this stuff has to live somewhere.
And since this is Zachy’s, some of the items people think they ordered they won’t have either.
I once passed on a bottle of late 1700s Madeira to give the other guy who was bidding on it a shot. Actually, I really passed on it because I did not want to sing soprano, which is what would have happened to me if my wife had discovered what I had bid on it before I bowed out.
Wowweee Travaglini Riserva for $23 as mentioned above is silly. I think I saw it for 45 euro in Gattinara itself last month? Couldn’t resist!
Thanks for this. Unfortunately, I was busy most of the morning / early afternoon so I couldn’t grab the Tua Ritas or some of the other wines I was interested in, but I managed to scrape together a decent 6-pack, including some Percarlo. The Giovanni Neri mags were tempting, but I have enough storage headaches…
Thank you for posting this. Spent 30 minutes and put together a case. And didn’t pull the trigger. Too much wine! The Italian offerings were strong. e.g. the 2019 Brezzas, IGTs etc.
Would definitely have grabbed a case of the Brezzas but all were sold out. Actually had some of the base Barolo in my cart, but they sold out before I could check out.
Ah I missed that the Travaglini was the riserva! Would have grabbed a few myself if I had realized.
Still, thanks for posting! I wish I could have gotten some the Brezza Cannubi or Albino Rocca, those were silly prices too.
I get the feeling in the coming months and years, if you miss one crazy good bargain, there will be plenty of others ahead.
All the market indicators seem to suggest a lot of steep discounting will be happening.
