I posted this on the WB Wine & Ski Topic but had little feedback. Need some restaurant recommendations.
My favorites in no order:
Chop House
Allreds
Cosmos
Rustico
221 South Oak
La Marmotte
Telluride Bistro
Sax is the best resource and I’m sure will post some recs. Since I was just there a month ago, these are my recs. I’ve eaten at all or was recommended by the concierge at my hotel. I did not buy any wine at all the restaurants cuz of fear of wicked altitude sickness, so no comments on wine lists.
La Marmotte - resides in an old icehouse. cool decor. upscale. good food.
221 South Oak - in a converted home. cozy but inviting. good food.
Sheridan New Chop House - inside New Sheridan Hotel which is reason enough to visit. Only ate lunch there. Highly spoken of.
Cosmopolitan - recommended by many, but did not get a chance to eat there
Allred’s - on top of the mountain at midpoint of gondola that connects mountain village to Telluride. Looks very high end. Did not eat here, just went through as I wanted to take some pics and this place has great views.
Note these are all in the town of Telluride with the exception of Allred’s. Telluride is so awesome. I’m not going to be able to come back for the Wine Festival as I can’t get time off work. Have fun.
So very true. My son is now a ski bum in Telluride when he’s not a MBA student at Wharton.
I’m so proud (that he discovered Telluride).
