Sorry if this is a duplicate thread.
It occurs to me that a team effort (in the interest of science) is often required.
Last night, after a very successful day in music teacher competition world, we decided to grab one of these.

2007 Domaine Chandon de Briailles Corton-Bressandes - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton Grand Cru (4/10/2014)
I like it, but…
Giddy from a successful day, and it being Burgundy Thursday, I thought I would see if the drink-ability extended to Chandon de Brialles, and especially to Corton.
Not
While this was certainly enjoyable, with really dark tart cherry, lots of steminess with dark clove and hints of great structure down the road, opening this was a crime. At least it hints of really great things in the future. Bury these and move on to other producers and other climats.

Tonight we will continue our sacrifice so that others may learn. My finger is poised over the Pobega button. I am preparing to be annoyed ![wink [wink.gif]](/uploads/db3686/original/2X/0/04707e6a7bbb03e0153e349d8a9270d30e1e9525.gif)
Disappointing. I was hoping to open one soon as a friend really liked this. When would you open this Scott.
Love the pricing on CdB 2007s.
I’ll wait 5 years before my next.
It was still tasty though.
Kinda expected this fail.
OTOH, the 2007 Chandon de Briailles Pernand-Vergelesses “Ile des Vergelesses” 1er Cru is lovely right now!
Pobega time!

2012 Seven of Hearts Pinot Noir Curmudgeon Cuvée Armstrong Vineyard - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Ribbon Ridge (4/11/2014)
Obviously built to age. This wb,as approachable at first sip and enjoyable throughout, although the tannins became more pronounced as the fruit faded a bit with air. This shows lovely structure with bright dark cherry and cranberry, complex spice flavors over a solid tannin backbone and a great acidic finish. In spite of the 100% whole cluster, I don’t get pronounced stemmy flavors, just nice integration. I think Bob would have loved this in spite of the bright vintage. I will certainly enjoy tracking the progress of my remaining bottles.

Cheers to Bob, you cantankerous old grouch. He was one of the first WBers to welcome me to the forum. He called my choice of wine, “shitty.” I took it as the compliment I think he intended.
