Taking advantage of the new CT feature

  • 2006 Pian dell’Orino Piandorino - Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino (6/5/2009)
Little bit of reduction blew off early. Lighter red, holding its color to the rim. Tar and black cherries on the nose. Follows through in the mouth. Acid and tannin carry equal weight and there’s a bit of a sweet fruit impression in the middle. Pretty good now. I’m not sure I’d hold these. (89 pts.)
  • 2001 Château de Sales - France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol (6/3/2009)
Red darkening at the center. Nose is pencil lead, plum, mocha and herbs. Flavors align. Nice acidity and velvety tannins that carry the flavors through the finish. I would drink a lot more Bordeaux if more tasted like this. (90 pts.)
