2007 Carlisle Zinfandel Dry Creek Valley (USA, California, Sonoma County, Dry Creek Valley) 91
Spicy nose on opening. An immediate ‘oh my’, this is good, as soon as I had the first taste. Nice color. This is a full-bodied zin, with tastes of cherries and fruit. It wasn’t over the top. I didn’t think this had a long finish, as others have posted. At the 2 hour mark, I was able to taste some chocolate. This is when ‘heat’ appeared. On the second night, the wine was a bit fuller. The heat was still present.
