Where to stay, everywhere near the Sydney Harbor to enjoy the view and the Rocks with all the pubs!
What to do in Sydney, and it really depends on you but is a list of areas to eat and socialize. Surry Hill, Paddington, Neutral Bay, Manly Beach, Coogee Beach, Bondi of course, Newtown Town…There are a few events in June… check Princes Wines website.
If you like to have a couple bottles of wine delivered to your hotel check out, Dan Murphy, Vintage Cellars and Princes Wines all in Sydney.
Remember: It will be winter in Sydney so a puffy coat at a minimum is required.
COFFEE: NEVER GO TO STARBUCK: Because the coffees in Australia are a close as you will get from Italy, I promise you!
The Bridge walk, is it worth it $300 PP…
The museums, golfing. and the Beaches are all within 20-30 from the city center.
Good luck

The closer that you get to the harbour, the higher the room rate. The Park Hyatt possibly best located. We sometimes stay at the Hilton which is in shopping/ business area but only a 10 minute stroil to the Quay. The Glass restaurant is very good as is the coffee in the lobby.
Next week we’re staying at the Quay grand Pullman Quay Grand Sydney Harbour Hotel | ALL - ALL
as we have the children meeting us there.

The governing area of Sydney is Tiny:
In Sydney, everything is close to water, Sydney Harbor or Darling Harbor!
But if you like to enjoy the view and a nice skyline, and for their Honeymoon it would be worth it.
There are many cool, trendy, foodie kind of restaurants in Sydney, but Quay Restaurant is always in the top 5
If you will have adult children coming with you, then an Airbnb would be ideal and the Eastern Suburbs would be your best option…
And Remember, don’t go to Starbucks, if you want a great cup of coffee…

Currently in Sydney. Dinner last night at Aria was very good. Service was spectacular, food very good. Don’t miss the caviar and potato starter, as well as the bonito. Wine list is very good and not too crazy. Ruinart Blanc de Blancs was very easy to like. That view though! Priceless!
Caught the ferry to Manly today for casual lunch. Although it’s late autumn and there’s been heaps of rain, still pleasant. Little stroll along boardwalk to Shelly beach is fun.
Tonight dining at Apollo at Potts Point. Will report back.

Thank you again everyone.
Still need to plug in some details but decided to split time between Sydney and Port Douglas.
We are staying at 4 Seasons in Sydney and Thala Beach Nature Reserve Lodge Hotel in Port Douglas. In Port Douglas we will experience both the Rain Forest and Great Barrier Reefs. In Sydney, I booked a Blue Mountain Day trip. Also we will be there during Vivid Sydney and looking forward to a Dinner/Penfold Cruise and seeing the Vivid Lights and Fireworks show.

Apollo at Potts Point is 20 min stroll from the Quay (or $12 Uber) through Botanic Gardens Pretty casual and buzzy mod Greek. Tidy wine list, vg service, noisy, but jam packed with locals. Recommended.

And if you walk through the Botanic Gardens, you can see foot long bats hanging from the trees

Yes bats and bush chooks everywhere in Sydney.
Also saw rather docile red belly black snake enjoying autumn sun at Northern beaches golf course.
