I’m going ‘open cellar’ at my house for the small party I’m having here. When the Packers are playing, the wine is free game (except the '90 Chave and La Chapelle, of course!)

We’ll have a huge mix of foods (lasagna, grilled meat, football snacks of all kinds, cheese, cheese curds), so there will be a wide array of wines AND beer.

What are cheese curds???

Curds are what they press into blocks to form cheese. Like the lumps in cottage cheese. Yum.

Fantastic when fresh, pretty good when breaded and fried, not very remarkable if raw and more than 2 days old.

Playing a bit of ‘Monday morning quarterback here…’

Made a bunch of ‘finger food’ - chips and fresh salsa, peel and eat shrimp, 3 different types of meatballs (beef & onions, sausage & cheddar, salmon & dijon), eggplant towers, etc.

We drank the last of a case of 2007 Domaine les Pallières Gigondas Terrasse du Diable, which towards the end of the game went really well with hand fulls of black licorice.

BTW, the Steelers were the better team, but then again they always are. At least I got to watch Liverpool beat Chelsea earlier in the day…
