Sunday dinner, sans pasta

NY Strip steak with potatoes au gratin, & steamed asparagus.
The potatoes are made with gruyere, mimolette & piave chesses.
Grated parmigiano-reggiano on the asparagus.
Roasted garlic on the steak. Med-rare.

2004 Oakville Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon.
A few lemon drop cookies—bring on the 23 hour day.

Yum. Apparently my invitation got caught up in my Spam filter.
Buon Appetito.

PS -I like the roast garlic atop the steak. Nice.

Mike - you eat and drink this at noon?

I believe it was bout 4-4:30ish.
At noon I was still at HomeDepot getting 400 pounds of topsoil.

Really too bad about that asparagus. Looks a little limp.

Bob, do you ever tire of being so negative?
Please add me to your ignore list. Please, I beg you, and I hate begging.

Do you ever get tired of complaining about the one post in 50 of mine you don’t like? You’re like the guys who read one post whining about Parker and complain that every thread is bashing him.

Suck it up and don’t be so sensitive, 'cause it’s not personal. People comment on the relative doneness of steaks all the time and no one gets his panties in a wad. I’d expect you to call me out for any pic of pasta that didn’t look right and you’d be justified, and if you’d said the same thing about my pic of asparagus my response would have been, “Yeah, it kinda got away from me.” Geez.

  1. What’s overdone to you may not be to someone else. Goto Italy and see how the vegetables are cooked there.
  2. There’s a history here of both overall negativity and aggression with the OP. I stand as witness to both.
  3. If you perceived that there was something wrong with the presentation, you could have worded it so it didn’t come off as such a jab.

It was a well meaning food post with a pic Bob, but you managed to spin it into an attack on Mike (again!).

Fucking Ridiculous.

Too much steam. pileon
