2001 Château Duhart-Milon - France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac (12/20/2009)
Popped and poured to enjoy with steak sandwiches on garlic rolls. Savory aroma of leather, tobacco, cedar and red fruits. Very mature flavors. Gained weight during the afternoon, color deepened. Excellent pairing, nice wine, especially for the $25 I paid for it. -
2006 Copain Syrah Les Voisins - USA, California, North Coast, McDowell Valley (12/20/2009)
Decanted two hours, enjoyed over three. Very juicy wine. Blackberry jam and pine resin on the nose. Palate showed lively fruit in great balance, midpalate and finish showed black olive, asian spices and salinity. Very easy drinker, very smooth and best enjoyed in its youth.
