Succession at Simon Bize?

It’s been about a month since Patrick Bize died. I was curious if anyone knew what the future held for the domain and its holdings.

I know '12 and '13 were brutal in Savigny, but I hope someone comes in who can keep the tradition going for '14…

I tasted there on Monday.
Patrick’s wife along with his sister, Marielle Grivot, will continue to run the domaine.
Their longtime winemaker, Guillaume, will continue to make the wines. Patrick was mostly overseeing operations and co-constructing vinification with Guillaume. Patrick was very hands on in the vineyards and vineyard management.
The '12s are beautiful and elegant. Terribly fine and crystalline, in both white and red.
There is not a lot of wine whatsoever…

Good to know. Robert, how were the 2011’s there? Prices took a big jump with that vintage.

I opened a 2011 Fournaux recently and it was awesome. Still a bargain in my book.

Loved the '11 aux Guettes… glad to hear things are continuing on – will support them

Tasted a horizontal of the '11s a month or two ago. Quite nice.
The Vergelesses was the grumpiest/least flattering of the 1ers on that night.
My prices didn’t change one bit.
