Also Chablis: Domaine William Fèvre Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre. Get you some 2020.

For a bit over $100, get the GC le Clos. Both great.

Just saw an offer on some 23 David Croix beaune and savigny wines for 80-100.

Any opinions on Coquard-Loison-Fleurot village wines? This thread has been very helpful.

They’re very good. On the modern side but very well made.

As much as I complain about Burg pricing, there really are some nice options in the $50-$100 range

It’s mentioned in the $50 thread, but pricing has crept a little bit so figured I’d make another plug for the Barthod Bons Batons.

I’d also throw in the Chevillon Nuits-St-Georges VV

My local shop has a selection of Joseph Voillot Volnay/Pommard wines from $80-$115. Would these be generally recommended?

Second this, especially for whites. For $100 it’s hard to beat their 1er cru Margotes, and at $70 it’s hard to beat the Chene lieu-dit.

And then, the top bottlings are really stellar.

As with all these things, it depends on your taste!

I’m a big fan, but they were historically on the elegant side of things, and not for folks who want rich deep wines. Caveat is that I haven’t tasted vintages post 2020 and things may have changed as Etienne took over from Jean-Pierre.

Agree with Michael. I’d say they are “glossy” have some oak. But super fun to drink. Well made in a forward fruity style.

That’s great to hear, I’ve been eyeing some at K&L near me.

Appreciate it. I bought the 18 and 21 Les Fremiets to compare against each other.

Well I’m sure you know that Frémiets borders Pommard and takes on some of those stereotypical characteristics. That said, the Voillot style has been ‘lighter’ than some other producers. I’ve been drinking their '15 Frémiets recently with great satisfaction, whereas you might wait on other producers.

However, '18 and '21 are very different vintages and might not be my first choice for bottles that would be showing well now. But if you want to experiment and learn, I guess you have to open bottles!

Never had Voillot. How does style compare to Violo-Guillemard?
