Zazu of Santa Rosa recently closed its doors at the rustic roadhouse location west of Santa Rosa to move to The Barlow in Sebastopol where they opened a sparkling new Zazu Restaurant. Ever since they moved out there has been work going on at the old location and an ABC Application was put up in the front window. Today on my way home from work I decided to stop and see what’s up.
Turns out that Steve Hansel is opening up a Bistro that there will feature his wines, among others, on the wine list to go with the food they will be serving. No chef or staff yet so there is a way to go. It it will allow Hansel to have a quasi tasting room which they have never had before. Being that it is a short trot down Willowside Rd to his winery/home doesn’t hurt at all either. Glad to see the spot utilized as a restaurant and better yet have the ability to taste thought the Walter Hansel offerings as well.
