So green I should have waited until St. Patrick’s Day to open this. In a hurry to leave the house to get my wife for Friday date night. Grabbed this because I had it in my small wine fridge of things to have now. Wanted to visit the 04 Burgundies and thankfully I don’t have many. Had an 04 Perrot-Minot Vosne Romanee two nights ago and it was OK. Not great but certainly drinkable. The Combe d’Orveau was pretty green and kept teasing us with one sip that made you think it might be starting to give a little more and then the next would be tough, tough love. Just not much fruit on the nose or palate, herbal, medicinal and acidic. Clipped finish. Should have known to drink this at home where I had ready back-up, but the dinner was good and we did get through a glass or so each. Had an 04 Chevillon Perrieres a few weeks ago that had to go straight down the sink.
I didn’t get the thread title at first read…silly me…
Interestingly, two of the most green bottles I’ve had are the two you focus on here.
Chevillon. Yikes. Poster child for green in '04.
Cheers.
