Split System Recommendations

It appears that my cooling system is dying. It’s 20 years old so I have no complaints. I’m gonna need to replace it and of course have it installed. I would like to hear some advice.

I have the Whisperkool 8000 ceiling mount split. Outside the condensate pump, it’s been a reliable and efficient cooling system. I have had to replace the condensate pump twice in 5 years, and while a PITA, their support has been great.

It appears that in Ohio you need a special (in addition to HVAC) refrigeration license to install wine cellar cooling units. I could use help here.

Not sure if this is helpful, but my Wine Guardian system was installed by the same company that did my HVAC when the house was built. That same company was able to come out and repair it when there was an issue (coolant leak, likely caused by shipping damage). So you could call around some of the bigger HVAC install companies in your area and see if they do wine unit installs (would focus on those in the more expensive parts of your city) or alternatively, contact a couple of the big wine unit companies and see if they have a listing of recommended installers in your area.

That’s weird. Do they have to be a somm’s certificate?
