Tonight’s dinner, the first this year out on our balcony (it was warm enough and the breeze wasn’t too bad), was the last of our last batch of crab claw meat, in a spicy mayonnaise (1/3 Tabasco Mayo, 2/3 regular mayo) with SI Spicy Seafood Seasoning, Key Lime Pepper, Onion Powder, and SI Salad Herbs, on Mr. G’s Farmers’ Market salad greens, dressed with a spicy vinaigrette - SI Spicy Seafood Seasoning, Key Lime Pepper, Onion Powder, Granulated Garlic, Lemon peel, Kosher salt, & SI Salad Herbs in Tuscan EVOO and Champagne Vinegar. Mr. G’s greens are so much fresher and better than store-bought greens. It was enjoyable on this very warm Spring evening with a 2000 Domaine Drouhin Beaune Clos des Mouches Blanc - light yellow-gold in color; rich, spicy, complex nose and flavors of tropical fruits and citrus; mid-palate of barely adequate acidity and rich fruit; with a long, complex tropical fruit finish. A nice start to the warm season and dining outside.
Then for dessert after sunset, while watching Dr. Who and Bones (via TiVo), we enjoyed a little over half a bottle of 1997 Porto Real with two halves of Ghirardelli Chocolate bars, milk chocolate for Carollee and 71% cocoa dark for me. The port was fairly simple and straight forward, but nice with the chocolates.
That’s a great balcony!!
I’m now living on my patio at the weather is again perfect.
