Apologies, I didn’t fully comprehend your statement.

I meant to write this earlier. Andrew and Alexis hosted a tasting at Terroir in NYC on Friday, and I was extremely impressed by both the wines and the people. You can tell how passionate and invested they are in the project.

The wines echoed what others have already said: fresh and floral, with dark cherry and cranberry notes. They show a light/restrained Napa than what you typically taste. While the tannins are present, they’re not overbearing. These wines should age well, though I wouldn’t hesitate to open one early. As Andrew noted at the tasting, the wines aren’t intended to be like Dunn’s Howell Mountain, where you may want to cellar them for 10+ years.

Finally, pricing has been confirmed to be in the Palisades Canyon/MOWE range, which is great to see. I’ll be a buyer when the wines are released.

A fun little surprise on St. Patricks day… A founding member early release went out for the 2023 Sown Estate Cabernet today. I am in for 3 bottles and happy to be supporting this project! Main release scheduled for 3/25

What’s considered a founding member if this is the first release?

Fun fact. I was just in Napa last week and picked up a bottle at ACME, prior to my dinner at Press with Kia from Neotempo. I saw Sown post that they had dropped off some bottles to Press at 4 pm. My dinner was at 8. I messaged Sown, and they said it’d be funny to try to see if Press would pull it, as it obviously wasn’t even on the wine list yet. I tried it, and Press pulled through, bringing the wine to my table within 5 minutes. Amazing by Press. Also, the wine was excellent. Great purity of fruit, and great racy acidity. It’s not plush or extracted, and is old school in style but in a great way. I highly recommend it and think it’s a really great project to support.

Is the offer at $185/bottle?

The offer is $165/bottle. I’m in for two 3-packs. The wines are delicious, and the people are great

I’m on their email list and tried to get a tasting but it was the weekend they had their baby so I didn’t get to visit them - no email for me about the release so we’ll see if I get one for the main release to everyone.

I picked up one 3-pack. Got a lovely email from Andrew afterwards thanking me for the purchase and telling me I am customer #3 - I’ll take it!

Wish I could move in on this but it’s the wrong time for me budget/space wise. Ugh.

Just joined the list. Guess I’ll have to wait til 3/25

After reading the article even more excited about the upcoming release!!

For the Napa experts… what’s the difference between Sown, Beta, Jasud, Aerika, Mowe, Palisades Canyon? Seems different in approach where they are saying don’t cellar them for 10+ years (?).
