Apologies to Dan ‘Lenny’ Kravitz. When asking about 99 in another thread I recommended to hold remaining bottles, I lied. Last night I popped one to see what is going on, far too young it was but very good none the less.

1999 Fernand Lécheneaut et Fils (Philippe et Vincent) Nuits St. Georges Les Damodes - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges (8/5/2013)
Pours out a deep colour and is a wine of good depth. It has some rusticity and is a little chunky but is also stacked with Nuits goodness. There are notes of iron, meat, blood plum, black cherry and cedar. It is dense, chewy, compact and youthful with just a little rawness from the oak on the finish. With air there’s a pleasant floral perfume. Still just a baby and I will leave my remaining bottles for a decade (unless of course I open them before).
