Opened a 2016 Tour Saint Christophe on Friday. Definitely Merlot and BDX with a touch of glossiness. For the $20 a bottle I paid it’s worth a multiple case purchase, but definitely shows the gap between the icons of Pomerol and value plays.
Classic Pomerol is classic, but it ain’t cheap.
I willingly splurge on this appellation. It hurts.
When I was looking at what I kept after my big auction, the majority was Right Bank particularly Pomerol. Found it really hard to part with them.
Sort of the same as loving green Loire Cab Franc and Ovid.
I knew that was coming…
