Some good wines this week...

It was one of those weeks where every bottle just hit the right notes…some fun stuff:

2011 Carlisle Gruner Veltliner Steiner - this is really crisp and clean medium bodied wine. I liked the mix of Cali fruit notes with the old world mineral notes. Decent acidity that makes you want more.

2008 Produttori del Barbaresco - consistent good value here. Food friendly and classic style. I can see why people just buy a couple of these each vintage.

2010 Sylvain Pataille Bourgogne - I’m not a burg expert by any means but can see why people get so hooked. This is a fairly straightforward bottling but crackling acidity and cranberry notes. Only 12.5% alcohol. Would like to try this producer again.

2005 Blason D’Issan - showing nice development. It has the Margaux nose and just starting to pick up some secondary notes. The tannins are still there but working their way into the background. Will revisit in 2-3 years.
