Burgers stuffed with jalapeños and jack cheese. Pacifico beer. Already had a big wine night this week, so I passed.
Rack of Lamb with 1990 Solaia, Maya, and Monte Bello (WOTN)
Various cuts grilled steaks with '07 Karl Lawrence that we decanted for a couple of hours.
The cut that I went with was a new name for me…a “Denver” that is part of the lowly chuck roast. Apparently the beef check off money is going towards the effort.
I’m skeptical of these types of things, but it was really great on the grill. Loaded with beefy flavor and while chewy, not like a crappy outback chewing gum steak. I did it rare/ med rare with just salt and pepper. Seared all four sides and let it rest. Pretty tasty.
Wha?? I grilled today! Copper River Sockeye and Filet Mignon with grilled asparagus, garlic mash, and a caprese salad…
Not grilling in rain takes away too many opportunities. ![cheers [cheers.gif]](/uploads/db3686/original/2X/0/0ff9bfcdb0964982cd3240b6159868fbdf215b1a.gif)
Grilled hangar steak with a 2011 VZN1 Zinfandel we picked up this afternoon at Preston of Dry Creek.
Two giant porterhouse steaks, Florentine style on the grill, roasted new potatoes w Garlic & rosemary. Served Krug NV w some La Tur piemontese cheese, then 1994 Lopez-Heredia Vina Tondinia and 2007 Piggio Antico Brunello. Just wonderful!

For us:
2007 Pacific Rim Dauenhauer Vyd Riesling
2010 Two Shepherds Viognier Sarahlees Vyd
2012 PYCM Rully Cailloux
1998 Ch. Leoville Barton
2000 Ch. Carbonnieux Bordeaux
The Two Shepherds was quite good, the rest were ok. Most disappointing were the PYCM and Leoville Barton.
Glad you had some food, Brian!
We had a modest 2009 Carol Shelton Karma Zin with pork ribs. Nice juice.
Shake shack and an IPA at the Mets game!

I agree, and of course we grill in the rain all the time. Just couldn’t bring myself to beercan a freshly butchered, free range chicken yesterday…
Flannery strip steak, roasted potatoes, cream spinach, and 1997 Pride Cabernet…yum
At a very young 83 my dad is doing quite well, but on the opposite coast at the moment. Anyway, in his honor - Stokesberry Farm still had a fresh chicken at the Ballard farmers market today so we’re having that roasted along with the asparagus with miso butter and soft cooked egg recipe recently revived on epicurean exploits. The wine? 2005 Thivin Cote de Brouilly. Cloudy and wet in Seattle today, not grill weather.
Stokesberry chickems are quite good. Ask them for their ducks – available seasonally and very tasty.
Decided to go to a new Chinese restaurant for Dim Sum; not great, but livened up by Dom Ruinart Rose
