Last month there was a a poll whether people would be buying less or more in 2010. I thought I would buy less, but I am on the wrong path already and haven’t even responded to a few new mailers.
Looking at CT history, January seems to be a big month. I guess cuz of all the Spring mailers that come out in January . Spent more than I wanted to with Sojourn, Rhys, Carlisle, August West, Tercero, and Cameron Hughes, but still less than Jan 09 or 08. This month, I’ll cut down, I swear.
last January 61 bottles this January 35 bottles.
much less, I have put many more bottles in my shopping carts, I just don’t pull the trigger so fast…must resist, must be strong.
Only wine buys came during our CA trip. We have some major expenditures to handle so we’ve tightened up for the short run. This is especially devastating considering Posner’s recent emails.
For January I’m way behind. Only purchased 6 bottles. But with a pending sale coming in March and other future purchases planned, I’m sure I’ll be back on pace (or over) by the end of the quarter.

and there is the ever present threat of the Posner
I am mostly done with major buying by April. That’s good because I need the remainder of the year to recover.
So far, I have passed on all mailers except Rhys (14 bottles), and I bought 7 bottles of Alsatian Riesling from a LWS.
I was proud of myself for passing on Betz, Aubert, Saxum, and a few others, all as part of my mailing list reduction plan for 2010. But with Maybach, Peay and Anthill are right around the corner and Copain and Lato looming in the distance, 2010 purchasing is about to ramp up a bit.
Well, it’s 2010 now, and I’m still buying like a drunken cowboy. Begining Monday however, I will cease drinking until basically April. You’d be amazed at how a lack of positive reinforcement deters foolish purchases!
