Snooth is looking for Contributing authors

Hi everyone.
A lot of familiar names here from over on the Parker board. Hi everyone. Only my second time here and at Todd’s suggestion I’m here to let you all know that Snooth, where I work, is now looking for contributing authors to help us flesh out our article library.

Just a little background first. Snooth was originally set up to allow members to search and find wines at retail as well give them a place to store their tasting notes and compare them with other members.

We just revamped the site a bit and last week unveiled our new editorial homepage. If you haven’t seen it it’s worth taking a look.

One reason for changing the homepage, besides the obvious, the old one sucked, was to allow for indexing and access to our editorail content, which up until now has been mostly me.

Well I can only write so much and with everything else on my plate I realize that reaching out to the wine community is the best route to take to really expand our horizons so Snooth is now looking for contributing authors.

We aren’t in a position to be able to pay for submissions, yet, but we do give aspiring authors access to nearly 750k monthly visitors and each article can link back to the author’s site or blog.

Moving forward we will be working out a compensation plan and I will also be looking for help writing or emails. So if you’ve ever thought of wine writing now is your chance. Get your foot in the door and let me know what you want to contribute.

Thank Todd for the suggest and I hope to hear from some of you soon!

Thanks P!

Okay all you geeks who fancy yourself writers - step up!

Already done.

Glad to see you here, Greg!

For those of you who don’t know Greg, he is a great guy who takes the most detailed and expressive tasting notes I’ve seen. He has a very broad knowledge of wine. We’ve even been working on putting together a Charbono tasting! He’s also a terrific chef. The only thing that stops a dinner at Greg’s from being perfect is that he often invites Brad Kane! [JK Brad.]

The only bad thing about Greg? Well, don’t tell him we have a politics forum! [shock.gif]

Might work better in Commerce Corner…

I thought that, too, Michael, but this really is about tapping into those who already write about wine, asking them to do it in a more formal way. I’d like to see some Berserker guest columnists, as I know there’s a lot to offer here.

If others are offended by it being in WT, let me know - I’m happy to move it. Just not for meathead alone. [thumbs-up.gif]

I would contact wine critics…they tend to be the best writers. Avoid blobbers, altogether.

He is also great at arranging great offlines too. Where else was I going to try a 1942 California Cab! [bow.gif]

The obvious question to me is what are you looking for? I don’t write articles as of now but if you can tell us what you need or want and it’s in my wheelhouse I could give it a go.

I’ve always wanted to write articles about wine. Email sent!
