Slovenian Riesling

Which borough you from? Irate or Irant?

Jay - easy to remember. Nebraska is where James Butler Hickock shot David McCanles and became known as Wild Bill.

Kansas has Dodge City. That’s where Wyatt Earp first became a town marshal.

Nothing much ever happened in Slovenia (down by Croatia) or Slovakia (up north, formerly part of Czechoslovakia and where Daniel Sinapius-Horčička lived).

See? Easy!

Or maybe this is even more germane:

Now I’m befuddled. I thought we were chatting about Slobovia, and now you’re saying it’s a part of Germany?

Did you mean Upper Slobbovia or Lower Slobbovia?

One of them was ruled by King Nogoodnik, I forget which.

It was Sumenjak Alter you drink it and Tom is right…it is skin contact. I wrote some bio on Sumenjak and placed some pictures from my many visits to Sumenjak. The winemaker is one of the most humble person I meet in this region. His Pinot Noir is quite interesting. Unfortunately he lost all grapes in the last two years because the early May storm. As for the history of the region…it was the Maribor that become the grounds in late 1890 to learn about winemaking.
