For whatever reason, dessert has become an afterthought in our house, with the exception of our kids in which case it is another food group. Unless we’re cooking for guests, I rarely prep anything for dessert before dinner and we’re usually lacking in the motivation department after dinner.
A few nights ago, after enjoying a couple of Flannery ribeyes - which I referred to as the “Landreth Ribeye” when I talked to Bryan and he knew exactly what I was talking about, but that’s another story -my wife and I had a major sweet tooth. We had some fresh peaches that had just turned ripe, and I was tempted to throw them on the grill, but instead sliced up and threw in a pan with a generous amount of butter. Cooked for about 5m and then added some brown sugar. Poured about 1/3 cup of bourbon and a splash of Grand Marnier in the pan and allowed it to burn off and then reduce for another 2-3 minutes. The wife balked at serving it with cream, so we opted for a little vanilla ice cream that the kids had miraculously left intact. This was just delicious, and took maybe 15m total including prep time.
The pictures kinda suck compared to others here, as they are from my iPhone.
