Im trying to get a single bottle from b-21 to my house in Denver before July 10th. B21 doesn’t appear to offer temp controlled shipping to my location (why?). Is there a way to get that bottle from their warehouse to my location without worrying about heat damage?
I think if B-21 can pre-chill, pack in styrofoam, and send Overnight to a business, you’d be fine. That’s a lot of “ifs”. Even without the pre-chill, I think the above scenario is probably fine. Styrofoam would protect it well enough if it gets picked up in the morning and sits on the back of a truck all day. If the wine is old, I wouldn’t do any of this, out of concern that the temperature changes could compromise an old cork.
I am very picky about these things. If the wine is young, just overnighting (any packaging) is probably fine. If they can send it soon, it looks like weather at the destination should be fairly cool?
Apple Jacks has most any wine you’d ever want. Go there and don’t fret it!
It sounds like this is a Big Deal Bottle.
Ask them to chill and pack in styrofoam, which they should do, and pay FEDEX for first overnight shipping.
