Shepherd's Lamb Shoulder Chops and Baby Green Peas with Chave Hermitage

Tonght’s 48th anniversary dinner was Churro lamb shoulder chops, seasoned with granulated garlic, Blood Orange Olive Oil, and garlic pepper; and pan-grilled, since it was raining. Veggie was minted baby green peas with chopped garlic, cooked n sugared water, and finished with Kosher salt, freshly ground black pepper, and butter. Wine was a 2001 Chave Hermitage - poured into our old Hermitage glasses (today’s Grande Bourgogne glasses) though a Vinturi - Cork barely touched, good ruby color, with initially hard tannins, softened with time and swirling, adequate acidity, and with time a long complex fruity finish.

Then for dessert we had milk chocolate for Carollee and dark chocolate for me with a Carollee’s birth year 1934 Cossart-Gordon Verdehlo Madeira. Neither chocolate was really good with the old Madeira, but Carollee’s Milk Chocolate was better.

Wow Dick, congrats on 48!

We got married in 1964, when Carollee was 5 weeks short of her 30th birthday; and i was 7 weeks short of my 24th birthday.

belated congratulations!

Congratulations. Sounds like a perfect meal to celebrate 48 years.

Thanks to all for your kind wishes on our anniversary.
