Shepherd's Lamb Loin Chops and Brussels Sprouts with Côte-Rôtie

Tonight’s dinner was Shepherd’s Lamb loin chops - broiled on our Weber Summit gas grille, seasoned with granulated garlic, garlic pepper, and mint. Veggie was Brussels Sprouts - boiled in water with Fish sauce and marjoram added; and drained & finished with EVOO. Wine was a very rich 2004 René Rostaing Côte Rôtie ‘La Landonne’ - cork soaked about an eighth of an inch, color a deep ruby; rich dark fruit, with adequate acidity, and a little bit of nearly resolved tannins; with a long dark fruit finish.

Our cat got outside just before dinner, so Carollee was a bit upset. She didn’t eat as much as usual, so I ate her second chop. We didn’t have any dessert, but our cat came back inside as we were heading for the den. He roamed around checking things and then setled down in ‘his’ chair, the black leather recliner in the den.

This cat lives well. Did he get any of the Cote-Rotie?

Where is the Cornas?

we had a Cornas the last time we had loin lamb chops. I didn’t delete it from the title this time.

No our cat didn’t get any wine. Sometimes he sniffs the bottle or one of our glasses, gives a disgusted face and moves on.
