Shepherd's Lamb Loin Chops and Broccoli with Côte-Rôtie

Tonight’s dinner was Shepherd’s Lamb Loin Chops (two each), seasoned with granulated garlic, garlic pepper, rosemary, and mint. Veggie was was broccoli boiled in fish sauce with garlic and finished with olive oil and freshly ground black pepper. Wine was a 2004 René Rostaing Côte Rôtie ‘La Landonne’ - Fill still above the capsule, color a dark ruby-garnet; good dark berry and currant fruit, with adequate acidity, and resolved tannins; with a long fruity finish.

Then we finished with a nearly ripe bosc pear and two grappas, Bamfi Grappa di Brunello and wood-aged Badia a Coltibuono Grappa di Sangiovese. It was a nice finsish to a great meal.
