I’ve got a couple of days in Shanghai next week. I haven’t been in about 10 years, anyone with recent experiences? Last time I went to Mr. and Mrs. Bund and it was really good, looks like it still exists. Anyone?
I went to Shanghai on business just over one year ago. We stayed at the Ritz Carlton Pudong, and the Jin Xuan restaurant in the hotel was outstanding. We were so occupied with business that I really did not get into the nitty gritty of the city, but I was really impressed overall.
Can’t help you with any recommendations but maybe have a look at Ian D’Agata’s insta profile - he was living there for quite some time, think he moved back to Europe quite recently but recall seeing a lot of food/wine post from Shanghai.
The 3 michelin star spot - Taian Table is really lovely. and a wine list with actually decent btls.
I went two years ago, they had a Bouchard Boloree for about 350 USD.. which is pretty fair to me.. and the food/staff is wonderful.
That or get a local friend to take you around. megatropolis so basically has everything under the sun you can be looking for.
