Nice article today on the SFGate website about Petite Sirah, written by noted Pinot Noir author John Haeger:
Much-denigrated Petite Sirah gets more respect
Ken, thanks for passing this article along. Seems almost oxymoronic that Haeger would be writing a petite sirah article. Although, any exposure for the varietal is good.
I would have liked to have seen more discussion about the ‘oak sponge’ comment, as well as some mention of what I think are key petite producers and advocates: of course, Swithcback Ridge and Foley, along with Turley (which I drank a bottle of last night, conicidentally).
So, I had a shot of espresso this morning and if I put on a Kansas t-shirt and a wig, can I then legitimately enjoy my next glass of petite?
