Hi All - what is the protocol involving stems, do we need to bring our stems like we did at Yuzu? Also, one bottle or two?

I do not have that many aged Italians yet, but I was thinking I would bring either the:

  1. 2010 San Polino Brunello di Montalcino Helichrysum
    or
  2. 2009 Baricci Brunello di Montalcino

Both of these are right at the beginning of their drinking windows so or we could try the:

  1. 2003 Glaetzer Shiraz Amon-Ra Barossa Valley (may be past it’s prime)
    or
  2. 2001 Clos Mogador Priorat Manyetes (a little Spain anyone?)
    or
  3. 2010 Cabot Vineyards Syrah Klamath Cuvée (something from closer to home)

Bringing stems is preferable, though they’ll supply some if you forget. Doesn’t have to be eyetalian, just whatever you feel like sharing. We typically don’t do flights, just pass wine around the table. So one or two glasses is usually enough - or whatever you want for yourself.
