I would think you of all people, counselor, would decline to judge exactly what is or is not barbecue.

But yes of course my post is intended as a joke. As to the original post, I think it does a decent job but the lack of any deep fried dish, as well as a lack of dishes incorporating the, ah, less desirable portions of the pig seems like a miss to me.

I will reiterate that the purple hulls etc freeze well so you can get several varieties and put them up for when greens come in in the fall. Crowders are my least favorite. Unless you cook them with some okra.

Was in Wal-Mart yesterday and they had about 10 varieties of frozen peas. Now this may be because we’re in the south, but they had zippers, purple hulls, crowders, field peas with snaps, brown/speckled butter beans and several others.
