Serving a 1990 Olga Raffault Chinon Les Picasses

Will be opening this on Sunday. Anyone have any recent experience? Wondering how long I should plan to decant, etc.

My last bottle was in late 2012. I double decanted for sediment and let it air in the rinsed bottle for 2 hours before serving, an excellent bottle. Let it stand upright for at least 24 hours before decanting.

Fwiw, i drank an 89 last year. It was ready to go pretty soon after opening and didn’t really change much over 24 hours. A really nice wine.

Thanks Elliot, I have an 89 on deck. [cheers.gif]

David, make sure to report back on it. If i understand right, this wine (or maybe all of the Olga library releases) has a rep for being inconsistent. Mine, however, was lovely, and motivated me to snag a bottle of the 78 that was floating around recently.

Thanks for the input guys. Sounds like I will be fine decanting for a short time. I will post TNs.
