Having at to work at the unnamed evil retailer there a few times in the past I can say that Chad’s link with places mentioned are about as good as it gets.
Was there last year and it was still very good. The Brazilian gaucho place mentioned in the link is Briosa Brazil (wine list is weak). Mister B’s Steakhouse is also good in Rogers.
hit up tusk & trotter for lunch. also very solid. would go back there for dinner.
there’s a great coffee spot around the corner called Press Room.
Crystal Bridges Museum is absolutely phenomenal - anyone that has even a mild interest in american art and/or architecture should make a serious effort to stop by.
James at the Mill is a winner. Consistently great food, decent wine glasses and a fine dining room ambience upstairs and downstairs with credible service.
I wouldn’t eat there if you paid me (actually I did once, against my will). I have known a couple of people who have worked there over the years. Unless things have changed, let’s just say their cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired.
That makes me wonder…how many Berserkers are in Arkansas? Or any other state for that matter? I see a new poll opportunity here (unless there’s a CT report to parse the info. There usually is ).
GULP! Never had a GI problem after an AQ trip. In any case, WalMart (and therefore Bentonville) is out of my business life so AQ is out of my dining life!
People can buy everyday goods for lower prices there than at other retailers. Spending $1.00 less on a box of pasta
or a pair of jeans is like an extra $1.50 to $2.00 of extra pre-tax income. Multiply that for people with families to feed
and clothe daily. (Of course, we lucky Noo Yawkers can just eat our pasta at Marea, and should not worry about anyone else.)
Also, people work at WalMart because it offers better wages, working conditions, and benefits than other local businesses.
(Of course, we lucky Noo Yawkers can work in sleek offices on Madison Avenue, and should not worry about anyone else.)
Otherwise, people would choose to work and shop elsewhere. If someone chooses not to shop there, that is a personal free
choice. However, the free choice of one person should not come at the expense of that for others.
I would love if WalMart were allowed in Noo Yawk. Of course, all the rat-infested, dirty, expensive bodegas have
fought against that, ostensibly to protect consumers from better-priced goods sold in clean environs.
