I love Wolf as a weeknight neighborhood restaurant. I live about 10 minutes away on foot and walk there often. Pretty rustic, somewhat seafood and pasta oriented with lots of small plates. Very little in the way of “big proteins” but always nice. One of my favorites for what it is and what it isn’t.
Tavolata is from the same owner, although when I am in that neighborhood I have a soft spot for Txori.
I was in Seattle last November and went there on a rainy night. Here is from my post on eBob last fall:
“Last night, I went to How To Cook a Wolf. Surprise- no wait! I sat at the bar and was waited on by Vasilios (call me Bill) and had a nice 2007 Abbazia di Novacella Kerner (white varietal I’d never heard of- composed of Riesling and Tollinger). It went well with the butternut squash soup, fennel and celery salad, and Tagliatella- not overmatched by the clams and garlic with spices. The wine was flavorful with peach and pear notes with a nice backbone to stand up to the spices in the pasta dish. Lingering over a poached pear for dessert, I was loathe to move on after two drop-dead women, a blonde and brunette, sat next to me. I ran out of excuses after an espresso and finally left. I told them the pleasure was all mine and swooned to the door. Wolf is a small, non-pretentious neighborhood restaurant- a lot of fun with a nice list of Italian wines- white varietals I’m not familiar with. Definitely a place to go back to and a cozy place to be on a rainy night.”

One of our favorite restaurants. Been there several times, and have never been disappointed.
