I’ve got a pork shoulder, somewhat small, that I am going to slow roast and smoke. Meat is covered.
I’ll make a pasta course with veggies and olives, probably w/bacon/prosciutto to keep with the theme.
Appetizers, crudites, bread, dessert, vegetarian fare? I’m sure Dave will have no time coming from the airport.
I’ll bring a fresh loaf of homemade bread. And I’ll find some cheese as well.

Tonight I was eating outside on the deck, but that is probably the last time this year.

Jim, did you bail on Florida, or do you plan on bailing while there? In the evacuation zone?
Well we’ve bailed on my fathers retirement community which is in evac zone C in St Petersburg. We’re in a hotel in Orlando, still in the hurricane path, but away from the surge, and hopefully it will be a cat or 2 lower by the time it gets here.
We’ve been taking turns spending time w/ my dad since mom finally died about a month ago (92, long illness). My brother was here during Helene, they were able to stay in place and had no damage. Only zone A and B were evacuated then. Different case this time. Just hoping for no major damage to his place, so he can go home.

I hope your dad’s place is on reasonably high ground. Looks like in or around Tampa Bay is not the place to be.
