We’re out between 4/6 and 4/14, unavailable on 4/24 too.
We’ll be back in Chas.
We’re here for a weekend in early May, and then a couple of weeks at the end of June.
Those ones are good for me as well.
I will be at Union tomorrow night if anyone wants me to talk to Roberto
Another local BYOB event, at Amara at Paraiso - $100 pp w/ free corkage, Jackie and I will be there on Wed 4/22 @ 630p:

Any interest in getting together late April or early May?
Any idea what people typically bring to these events?
Usually a good mix of industry folk and genuine enthusiasts. I’ve been to a couple similar events and there’s everything from off the beaten path discoveries to tete de cuvee champagne and benchmark classics.
We’re still in!
What Henry said - I missed the one I had booked due to sickness, but looking at the pictures, a wide range of great stuff.
I’ll probably grab an old Sauternes for this for sure and a Montlouis, pending what comes out in the final menu - I see a lot of lighter fare in it, but still plenty of red meats.
PS - Where does everyone live, again? I know Raul is around the corner from me, but we’d love to meet up locally with any folks in the westchester/coral gables/coconut grove area. Hell, even if its just coming over to open up something new or weird.
I attended 3 of these events, I brought a Tidings Cab to the first one (also at Amara) and it was extremely popular. To the second one I brought a Wasenhaus Spätburgunder, only 2 other attendees liked it (for my preference it was really good). To the third event I brought an EDWCY Nightlight Red, some people loved it and some didn’t care much.
In general I would say that the wine styles are leaning classical, with a good percentage of blockbusters.
Yes!
I’m looking to put together a larger group tasting in late May or early June, depending on everyone’s availability, ideally on a Thursday night.
This will likely be my last tasting for a while with our second kid due in August, so I’d love to make this one a special night. I’m working on a few restaurant options that can accommodate us and will share those soon once I get a headcount.
For the wines, I’m thinking we keep it elevated roughly $150+ per bottle. We can finalize a theme together, but I’m currently leaning Old World.
Let me know your availability for the following dates:
- 5/28
- 6/4
- 6/11
- 6/18
Congratulations Jesse! Any of the proposed dates are fine with me.
Congratulations Jesse!!! Those dates work for me as well!! Look forward to it.
We get back on June 25.

Congrats Jess!
Congrats Jesse!
I’ve missed a few of the past tastings but am looking forward to getting together again. 6/4 and 6/11 would work best for me.
Congratulations Jesse!!! I already look forward to your first celebration with this group post baby #2!! And if your second child is born on August 24th, my birthday, I PROMISE I’ll bring some crazy bubbles to that celebration.
As for those dates, Laurie and I head back to New Jersey in mid-May. But we do come down at least once a month to Fort Lauderdale as it is great here over the summer (in limited doses). Just let me know what date you choose and perhaps we can make it happen. Congrats again.

Are you guys available for 6/4 or 6/11? Invite anyone else who I have forgotten or may not be on WB. Need to get a total head count before I finalize the location.
Likely no as of now for me. I won’t know for sure until we get closer to the dates
