Wow, Wally’s is really taking this auction business pretty seriously since coming onto the scene earlier this year.
A set of Screaming Eagle double magnums from '92, '93 and '94. Signed by someone.
Lot estimate - $100,000 to $1,000,000 ![shock [shock.gif]](/uploads/db3686/original/2X/0/0b1dcf699ec319f43254f92e3f145786dcd93904.gif)
Plus 20% buyer’s premium, of course.

Wow.
A million seems to be a bit much, but $100K for a set of the first three vintages (if authenticated) does not seem that far of a stretch.
This is the kind of lot that can pretty much go for any price. Such a 1-off trophy. Will be interesting to see the final price
Isn’t this one of the signs of the apocalypse?
I believe this is the second sign actually. How’d we miss the first?! ![help [help.gif]](/uploads/db3686/original/2X/4/4030a9a60185376a7393a78002ce3ec0176e975e.gif)
Some Billionaire in Hong Kong will buy this lot as a trophey and won’t care about the price. He just wants to flex his muscles and out bid everyone else.
My thoughts exactly. Although 1m may be excessive, I have NO idea of the final price.
At $100k, it is incredibly expensive, but even at half a million, it would be ludicrous. And that is if you like the wine…
Is my math right (3 double mags = 1 case of .750s, $100,000 for the lot is around $8,000/bottle, not counting the buyer’s premium?) And that’s the low estimate? Seems pricey for what might end up being just cellar decoration (if you drink them you no longer have them). Myself, if I wanted to spend that kind of money on something to look at, I’d probably buy a painting, which can be consumed and enjoyed without being destroyed, and I’d still have the option to buy Screaming Eagle at normal formats at normal market pricing.
