SCM - anyone going to the Windy Oaks BBQ on Saturday?

Just wondering if anyone else is going there this Saturday for the BBQ / wine pickup. We’ll be there around 1:30.

It’s gonna take a lot of granola bars, caffeine, Depends and speeding tickets to make that drive in 30 hrs!

I was planning to attend the Stanford-UCLA football game in Palo Alto on Saturday @ 6p. They moved the game up to 12:30 for TV (ABC). I’m not sure what I’m doing at this point.

I am looking forward to it as I am starting to run low on my stockpile of Windy Oaks. Plus they have a bottle of the 05 ‘special burgundian clone’ waiting for me as well.

This is always a great time and I have a fair amount of wine to pick up. I hope I can make it.

Tasted a couple of new ones:

07 Windy Oaks 100% Whole Cluster Pinot Noir.
Very tasty and more fruit then expected but a green edge that needs a little time to integrate.

07 Windy Oaks ‘Henry’s Block’ Pinot Noir.
Good dose of oak and tannin masking the fruit at this point. Revisit in a year or two at least.

It was pretty busy out there today and the tasting line got pretty long so that’s all I had a chance to taste. I think they were also pouring the 07 Estate Cuvee, which I have had several times, and a couple of Rose from some other place that weren’t too interesting.
