Does anyone have any idea as to what this is used for? It’s labeled only, “Made in Italy for Budde & Westermann, NY, NY.” Cursory web searching shows that B&W were and/or are involved in winemaking supplies.
It looks like something for distillation, but that’s as far as I can go!

Looks like an old ebulliometer - used for measuring of the alcohol content in wine, based on the difference in boiling points of water and alcohol.
