We continue to be grateful for and delighted by your strong support of Scarecrow. Once again, written invitations to purchase our 2006 vintage will be mailed in phases based on list seniority. The invitation includes your user ID and password. If you do not receive an offer to purchase Scarecrow this year, rest assured your position on our waiting list remains secure.
We respectfully remind you that declining a written offer shifts you to the end of our waiting list, allowing others the opportunity to purchase.
We thank you and send our warmest regards.
Yours sincerely,
I only have gotten the 2005. Not sure if I will be offered any 06 or not.
Just received. No amount or allocations just the usual warning about falling to the back of the list if you pass.

Same with me. I somehow doubt that this will be like other wineries, with people falling off the mailing list left and right. I still think people will buy this.
I thought it was kind of weird that they offered wine to new people for the 2005 when production was high. There had to be a chance some of those folks would get dropped if production fell. I think it would feel worse to get the wine and then be dropped than to be on the waitlist the entire time.
If I were in their shoes and faced with a year where production was unusually high, I would have offered more to old customers. Of course (I’m arguing with myself here), the flippers on the list would cut against that instinct.
man, I’m going to have to change my password instead of leaving it as Yoni’s wife’s name. It’s too easy for him to hack in and see what trouble I’m up to.

Man, IMHO…as great as this wine might be, and as nice as the people might be, I think that they should have thought this e-mail out just a little bit more before sending as is.
All VERY VERY good guesses, but they are all incorrect.
Yoni, I have a great zinger for your comment, but it crosses the line, so I can’t do it… even to you.
Bill, you might be right… I think I have signed up for every mailer. In the actual mailbox yesterday was Sojourn, Flowers, Bond, and a Merus correction mailer. Emails today from… Scarecrow, Auteur, Vineyard 29, Loring, and Copain.
I like how they worded it by saying “can you go ahead and fax your order again, but to this number?” I’m just sitting there thinking that for $405, my “order” never came close to seeing a fax machine, mailbox, or anything that resembles a delivery device.
