I have been reviewing the Saxum blends and there is less consistency than I thought so 2011 appears to fit in well. Here are the percentages of the >10 years vintages: It appears that the 2007, which was the WS WOTY, started a trend towards a higher Grenache percentage, with the 2011 being the highest, so it looks good. I will search tonight for what magnums I have because I would like to open one of them for a change.
One or both is fine. If only one - Will check with someone else to make sure he is not bringing the 2013 James Berry. If he is then the Broken Stones. We may be able to do a JBV and a Broken Stones vertical.
I seem to have a fair amount of Saxum. Mostly post 2011 vintages.
Let me know if something is needed if a vertical is planned.
Initially, I plan on bringing the 2007 James Berry, the 2017 Saxum White and 2017 James Berry.
Looks like we will have a James Berry vertical, so I will focus on that, but we may also have a Broken Stones vertical. I will ceck my own collection and organize everything after a 3 pm zoom that I have.
tough to say. Four years ago, I said it needed a five hour decant. If you double decant an hour before you get to the restaurant, that should be enough because we have a very long vertical.
Looking forward to this.
Won’t be able to decant in advance; best I can do is open in the A.M., taste to make sure the wine is proper, and recork.
I will bring:
2007 James Berry,
2017 James Berry White
and, to stretch the vertical,
2018 James Berry.
Excellent. We (listed as Rebecca above) will bring another JB White to make sure that we have a comparison, and enough whites for the apps and the pescatarians. If I can find it, I will go with the 2019.
