Haven’t read the Saveur issue yet - but the recipe sounds like some good Syrian meatballs. Perhaps not “classic” however.

I arched my eyebrows in disbelief myself when I made some of these last summer (together with kofta for the barbecue) using a recipe from “Aromas of Aleppo” - but man, they turned out great.

The web content is a summary that doesn’t do the print edition justice. Each article is a story of the meal. Generally, it was not the food that was memorable, but the occasion. I am just on my way reading through the issue, and I recommend it.
