Saturday afternoon TNs: a quartet of European whites

Sitting here today with a day 2 glass of the Wagner STempel that has come together quite a bit, so my “pop & pour” observation from yesterday doesn’t really do the wine justice.

Dry and medium- to - full-bodied on the palate - this is the stuff. Balanced and really covering the palate. Sad to say this is my last bottle, but I will enjoy this over the weekend.

Refreshing and brisk on the palate - in a nice place right now, but I don’t see any indication that this isn’t capable of another decade in the cellar (although whether it will last that long in MY cellar is another question altogether).

Quite brisk & dry on the palate, lean and relatively light-bodied. Slight bitterness on the finish; not bad.

I picked up a case of this a while back, but hadn’t gotten around to pulling a cork until today. Light yellow-gold in the glass; I love the nose here, with slate nuances, a saline note, crisp apples - a lot going on here right now.

Sweet & sour fruit on the palate, with nice persistence on the finish. Light-bodied. The nose is more interesting than the palate today, as the wine has not fully knit itself together yet and comes across a little “angular”. I like the potential here, though.
