Saturday 7/18/09...What Is Everyone Drinking Tonight?

About to crack a 2007 Cliff Lede Napa Sauvignon Blanc. Red will determined laters.

Doing mop up duty on a 2005 Lillian opened last night. She’s still singing. Later tonight, will open a 2006 Belle Pente PN.

I think I am going with 1996 Kalin Cellars Pinot Noir Cuvée DD and finishing up the 2007 Pepiere Clos Briords.

Jason

Finishing a bottle of 2008 August West “Rosella’s” Pinot Noir since Traci is off with the girls to see Kenny Chesney tonight at AT&T Park.

Finishing a 97 Phelps Insignia and a 1998 Beaucastel that I opened for a friend last night that was a light weight.

In Maine today with 2lb lobster, corn on the cob, oysters and peel n eat shrimp:

98 Pol Roger Brut
90 Taittinger Comtes
00 Fevre Preuses
00 Fevre Clos
06 Ramonet something or other
A Meursault
A Baumard Quart Charmes

I should have written the latter two down, and I believe there was another bottle I’m forgetting…

Now?

07 Turley Duarte

Cracked open a 2006 Cedarville Grenache to go along with some BBQ…

Simple night for me - polishing off some '06 Carlisle Sonoma County Syrah

you likey ?

It’s fine. Don’t likey it enough to buy my allocation…

Vertical of Colgin… will report back on vintages later…

I feel ya, not a rabid fan of the syrahs but I very much like the zins

Which bottling, Clem?

I’m going to finish off my second bottle of ACME NV rose of pinot noir since it’s pretty warm. Grilled chicken and a salad. Maybe I’ll crack an ACME NV pinot noir.

Jack,

How is the 1997 Insignia drinking? I have been holding back on my lone bottle but don’t want to hold past its prime.

Thanks.

I am not jack but ive had it twice in the past half year and it’s firing on all cylinders

Thanks Charlie. Nice to know. I probably should open it soon.

A Champagne and possibly something else with shrimp and a spicy tomato sauce.

1997 Sangiusto Percarlo with Bryan Flannery’s filet sliced thin as Carpaccio with Arugula in a lemon & EVOO dressing.

Some CalCabs (Al Lucero is coming over), some syrahs, and a 1962 Bouchard Chambertin with two Flannery Rib-Caps.

Something Jack Johnson will bring for their cheese course.

Something Cabe Martinez will bring for Allyson’s Apple Pie a la Mode.

Baller.

Don’t drink too much so you can handle the pig tomorrow.

You can happily drink now or wait at least another 5 years. A lovely and balanced wine. The Beau is also entering the sweet spot.

I’m 0 for 2 tonight [bleh.gif] .

As Warren Zevon said, “I don’t want to talk about it!”
