Santa Barbara

Also not fancy, but I have a soft spot for the torta milanesa and carnitas quesadilla at Super Cuca’s

Would I go to Brophy’s to eat if it wasn’t in the harbor? Perhaps, but I only eat their raw bar with drinks. Ideally at sunset.

Agree with Mike on Super Rica…it’s good, but not really a destination. If you want a casual lunch, Mony’s near the Funk Zone is better, IMO.

For nicer dinners, a second on Bouchon, and Toma if you want Italian.

If your wife likes shopping, head to Montecito and have pizza for lunch at Bettina.

And Kunin is a good tasting room to visit.

Thanks Marshall, will check out Kunin for sure.

Part of the concept of going to LSR is going to where Julia Child loved to hang out. Can you find ‘better’ food? Of course - but sometimes that’s not the point ,. . .

Bibi Ji is very good, but if you are looking for ‘traditional’ Indian food you may be disappointed.

Bouchon is great if you want a fancier, white table cloth meal. I concur about Corazon Cucina in the Public Market - get their Sal de Mer Ceviche - memorable. So many other places to consider - the Lark is certainly top notch and I may put it ahead of Loquita unless you really want to have Tapas. Check out the Black Sheep, just moved and I’ve heard fantastic things about it.

As far as wine goes, you are 45 minutes from the Santa Ynez Valley - lots of choices up here and great dining too. Reach out if I can help

Cheers

Thanks Larry! I’d love to come up to Santa Ynez, but this is a “babymoon” so there’s less leeway on wine-focused day trips. Thanks for the note on LSR and Black Sheep, definitely going to reconsider both.

Since it’s a babymoon, which I went through recently, it really has NOTHING to do with YOU my friend - just make sure that she is happy and does what she wants. Make sure to go to the Baccara or Miramar hotel one day and let her have a spa day :upside_down_face:

Cheers!

Haha, congratulations! She picked the Hilton, but ill see if she wants ti consider those as well!

Edit: I was wrong, shes doing the Baccara - thats why I get a couple hours of wine tasting!
